Volunteer Opportunity

One of our local elementary schools, Lanier Charter Elementary School, was chosen to be featured on School Pride, a new NBC show. The premise of the show is to remodel schools with the help of the local community to provide an educational environment that the kiddos deserve!

NBC selected Lanier because the producers were struck by how much incredible academic growth was happening despite the facility that was falling apart and hadn't been updated in nearly 60 years! Some of the issues that these elementary students face daily are mold, leaky roofs, out-of-date classrooms and a dysfunctional playground.

The remodel will take place July 12th-18th and they are in need of volunteers! Please sign up for a 6 hour work period during that week here! It doesn't matter if you aren't a remodeling pro...they need every one from skilled workers to painters to welcome tent workers! I signed up for the 12-6pm shift on that Saturday, July 17th and YOU SHOULD TOO!
